Buffy Storm, D.D.S., M.S.

Dr. Buffy Storm was born in San Diego, California but considers Lynchburg, Tennessee as her hometown.  She moved to Lynchburg in 1986 and graduated from Moore County High School in 1988.  She earned her Bachelor of Science degree at Middle Tennessee State University in 1993 and graduated from Dental School at the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in 1997.

Upon graduation from dental school, she entered the US Navy as a Lieutenant in the Dental Corps to pursue world travel and future dental specialty training.  She served our country for twelve years on active duty followed by eight years in the Individual Ready Reserves at the rank of Commander (O-5).  Her tours included a one year residency in the Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program at Naval Dental Center Southwest in San Diego, CA. She served two years onboard the USS COMSTOCK LSD-45 as the ship's sole dental provider and the Dental Department Head for a crew of 300 sailors and 200 embarked Marines.  She was then stationed at the Naval Amphibias Base in Coronado, CA with the Navy SEALS.  During this tour she worked closely with the Command Endodontist Specialty Leader and began to emphasize her practice in endodontics.  In 2003 she was handpicked to serve as the Admiral’s aide to the Chief of the US Navy Dental Corps at the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery in Washington, D. C.  That tour was followed by a two year residency in Endodontics at the Naval Postgraduate Dental School in Bethesda, MD.  After receiving her Post-Graduate Certificate in Endodontics, she spent her final tour serving with the Marines as the Command Endodontic Advisor for the AEGD program and the Endodontist at Mainside Dental Clinic with 2nd Dental Battalion, Naval Dental Center Camp Lejeune, NC.

In addition to her Post-Graduate Certificate in Endodontics, she earned a Master of Science in Health Sciences Degree at George Washington University.  Her research on the Setting Expansion of MTA was published in the Journal of Endodontics, the official journal of the American Association of Endodontists.  She presented table clinics at two of the annual meetings of the American Association of Endodontists and won third place for one of her exhibits.

Dr. Storm's background as a general dentist for seven years prior to limiting her practice to Endodontics is a tremendous advantage when working closely with your dentist.  With her expertise, the best course of action can be determined for your individual needs with your overall dental health in consideration.

Dr. Storm is a member of the American Association of Endodontists, the American Dental Association, the Tennessee Dental Association, the Murfreesboro Dental Society (MDS), the Spear Study Club and the John I. Ingle Study Club.  She served as a Specialty Advisor for the Middle Tennessee Society for Advanced Dentistry and President for the MDS.  She is also a proud volunteer for the Interfaith Dental Clinic in Murfreesboro, TN. The Interfaith Dental Clinic has recognized Dr. Storm as a Dentist of Distinction for her contributions.

When she has free time, Dr. Storm spends it enjoying life with her husband, their three beautiful boys, and her mom.  Her hobbies include cooking, gardening, and hanging out by the pool.
